A safe and intentionally designed environment empowers children to be independent, make choices, and find creative solutions to various situations. These are the essential first steps in fostering the development of self-regulation.
Every child has hidden superpowers
Our smart environment, DigiLa, helps us use data-informed insights to follow each child’s development and create a personalized learning path. This highlights a child’s unique strengths and identifies areas that may need extra support. By intentionally nurturing their potential, we make every child’s superpowers visible.
We welcome children aged 1.5–3 all year round.
We are open on weekdays from 8:00 to 17:30.

Väike Päike offers a conscious, child-centered approach
Our staff are passionate professionals dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for children outside their homes. At Väike Päike, every child is seen and valued, with the freedom to explore, discover, and experiment at their own pace.
We follow a flexible daily schedule that respects the unique needs of every family. We value natural learning through play and everyday activities. Our focus is on supporting a child’s core skills, helping them grow into self-regulated, adaptable, and resilient individuals who are well-equipped for life.
Self-Regulation Program
Self-regulation is a set of essential life skills that help us direct our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It consists of executive functions such as cognitive flexibility (managing emotions, planning, and shifting attention), working memory, and inhibitory control (impulse control).
STEAM and Digital learning
Our activities integrate elements of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. We enrich the learning experience with age-appropriate digital tools. New knowledge and skills are best reinforced when children can experiment and discover the world through hands-on activities.
DigiLa – Your Child’s Personalized Learning Path
DigiLa makes your child’s development visible. It allows you to track their progress through the curriculum and monitor their level of knowledge and skills. Furthermore, DigiLa clearly highlights your child’s unique strengths as well as areas that may require extra attention.
Children in outdoor daycare develop:

Research has shown that spending ample time outdoors every day supports a child’s motor development, coordination, and tactile sensitivity, while enhancing depth and distance perception. Being outside gives children the opportunity to relate to the natural world. Direct experience with nature (including urban nature) is the best way to foster an environmentally conscious mindset, creative thinking, consideration for others, and self-trust.
Our secure outdoor area features various activity zones for learning, nature exploration, and play: sand areas, a mud kitchen, swings, a climbing center, a log circle, a sledding hill, ball tubes, and a vegetable garden. Our outdoor daycare is located right next to our other daycare building, with the yards connected by a gate.
